HistoryIn 1981, Carole Winer realized her dream of opening a store specializing in 18th and 19th century French antiques in the charming town of Washington Depot, Connecticut. Three years later, Ms. Winer acquired the renowned Samuel Bull Homestead in Woodbury, the prized antique center of Connecticut, and Country Loft Antiques soon became a destination for customers from around the globe in search of the very best in authentic French Country antiques. Located on nineteen acres of magnificent Litchfield county countryside, Country Loft Antiques displays a vast collection of European and American antiques, wine accoutrements, accessories, and culinary antiques, along with a large selection of unique gifts. At Country Loft Antiques where the grain was once stored within the stone walls of a circa 1800 silo, now stands a 19th century wine barrel along with a wine tasting table ready to be put to use. Every person that enters the historic restored barns at Country Loft Antiques are warmed by the unexpected nostalgia of days gone by. Antique and reproduction furniture, as well as other treasures, are beautifully displayed and enhanced by the calming atmosphere. This ambiance is partially created by the beautiful lighting fixtures that are handcrafted by local artists and are available to our clientele in a variety of custom sizes.
